Who we are
Haga Advisory Group LLC is a tax and advisory firm led by Virginia Haga, an Enrolled Agent licensed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. We are not a CPA firm and we do not provide attest services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how we protect it.
What we collect
From visitors to this website
Information you type into a form or send us by email — your name, business name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to tell us about your situation.
Standard technical information your browser sends: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time. Our website platform collects this automatically to keep the site working and to tell us which pages people read.
Information from our scheduling tool if you book a call, including your answers to the short set of questions before the calendar.
Cookies. This site uses cookies set by the platform it runs on, which are needed for the site to work and to tell us in aggregate which pages are read. We may use a standard analytics service for the same purpose. We do not use cookies to advertise to you on other sites, and we do not sell or share browsing information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work.
From clients
Information you give us: identifying details, Social Security and employer identification numbers, income and expense records, bank and loan information, payroll records, prior tax returns, and correspondence from taxing authorities.
Information from your bookkeeping, payroll and banking systems where you connect them to us.
Information from taxing authorities — transcripts, notices and account records — where you have signed a power of attorney authorizing us to obtain them. We do not ask for that authorization, and we do not obtain anything from a taxing authority, before you have become a subscriber. A Tax Savings Strategy is prepared from the returns and records you give us.
How we use it
We use the information you give us to do the work you have engaged us to do: keeping or monitoring your books, administering your payroll, planning, preparing and filing your returns, and representing you before taxing authorities. We also use it to bill you, to keep the records professional standards and the law require us to keep, and to communicate with you about your engagement.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Text messages. If you give us a mobile number, we may text you about your engagement — a reminder, a question, a document request. We do not send marketing by text. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop. Message and data rates may apply.
FEDERAL LAW ON TAX RETURN INFORMATION — IRC §7216
Tax return information is subject to a stricter rule than ordinary privacy law. Under Internal Revenue Code §7216 and the regulations under it, we may not use your tax return information for any purpose other than preparing and filing your return, and may not disclose it to anyone outside the firm, unless the law specifically permits it or you have signed a written consent that meets the requirements of Treas. Reg. §301.7216-3.
Those consents are separate documents from this policy. Signing them is voluntary, we cannot condition our services on them, and each is valid for one year unless it says otherwise. Nothing in this policy is a consent, and nothing in it authorizes any use or disclosure that §7216 would otherwise prohibit.
Who we share it with
We share your information only in these circumstances:
Service providers
Companies that run the software we work in — our secure client portal, our bookkeeping platform, our payroll platform, our tax preparation and research software, our payment processor, and our email and file storage. They may process your information only to provide those services to us, under contracts requiring them to protect it, and may not use it for their own purposes, including to train any artificial intelligence system.
Taxing authorities
The IRS and state agencies, in filing your returns and in representing you.
People you direct us to
Your banker, bonding agent, lender, attorney, insurance agent or anyone else — but only where you have told us to, in writing, and where §7216 permits it.
Where the law requires
In response to a subpoena, court order, or lawful demand from a regulator, and in connection with an inquiry by the IRS office that oversees Enrolled Agents.
Professionals we bring in
Where your work requires reviewed or audited financial statements, we refer that engagement to an independent CPA firm you engage directly. We do not perform it and we do not share your information with them without your instruction.
We do not send your information outside the United States. If that ever changes, §7216 requires your separate written consent first, and we would ask for it before anything moved.
The GLBA notice
This section is the privacy notice required of financial institutions under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Regulation P, 12 CFR Part 1016. A tax firm is a financial institution for this purpose. New clients receive it when the engagement begins.
What we collect
Information from your engagement documents and the records you give us; information about your transactions with us; and information we obtain from taxing authorities with your authorization.
What we disclose
We do not disclose non-public personal information about current or former clients to anyone, except as permitted by 12 CFR §§1016.13, 1016.14 and 1016.15 — that is, to service providers under contract, to process and service the transactions you ask us to, at your direction or with your consent, and where the law requires.
Former clients
The same restrictions apply after your engagement ends, for as long as we hold your records.
Opt out
Because we do not share your information outside those exceptions, there is nothing to opt out of. If that ever changes we will tell you first and give you the right to opt out before anything is shared.
Affiliates
We have no affiliates and share nothing with any.
How we protect it
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards under a written information security plan, described in the next section.
Annual notice
We are not required to send this notice every year while the statements above remain true, under 15 U.S.C. §6803(f) and 12 CFR §1016.5(e). If our practices change, we will send you a revised notice.
How we protect your information
We maintain a written information security plan as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR Part 314) and described in IRS Publication 4557. In plain terms:
• The services we use to hold your information encrypt it, both when it is stored and when it moves across the internet.
• Client records are kept only in systems protected by multi-factor sign-in.
• Access is limited to the people who need it for your work, and no further.
• Documents move through our secure client portal. We ask you not to email tax documents, and we do not email them to you.
• We do not record telephone calls.
• We check our vendors’ security, and our contracts require them to protect your information.
• We keep your records for the period set out below and dispose of them securely after that.
No system is perfect. If information we hold is ever accessed without authorization, we will tell you promptly, tell you what happened and what we are doing about it, and make the reports the law requires — to the IRS, to the Federal Trade Commission where the Safeguards Rule requires it, and to state authorities under their own breach-notification laws.
How long we keep things
Clients. We keep client records for seven years after the engagement ends unless a longer period is required by law or is necessary for a matter still open, and we keep the specific records professional standards require for as long as they require.
People who engage us for a Tax Savings Strategy and do not go on to subscribe. We delete the documents you gave us ninety days after we deliver your findings. We keep the engagement letter, the invoice and the findings report for seven years.
Website inquiries that do not become engagements — a form submission, an email, a booking — are kept for two years.
After those periods, records are securely destroyed.
Your choices
• You may ask us what information we hold about you, and we will tell you.
• You may ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
• You may withdraw a §7216 consent at any time, in writing, effective going forward.
• You may unsubscribe from anything we send you that is not about your engagement, and reply STOP to any text.
• Depending on where you live, state law may give you further rights. Write to us and we will honor them.
Children
This website is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Where a client’s return includes information about their children, we treat it the same way we treat every other part of the return.
Changes to this policy, and how to reach us
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date, and where the change is significant we will tell clients directly. Questions, requests, or concerns about privacy go to virginia@hagaadvisory.com or 256-904-3398.
Website Terms of Use
Effective October 16, 2026
Using this site means accepting these terms
This website is operated by Haga Advisory Group LLC. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Nothing here is advice, and reading it does not make you a client
Everything on this site is general information. Tax outcomes depend on facts we have not seen. Nothing here is tax, legal or financial advice for your situation, and nothing here creates a professional relationship. A relationship begins only when both of us have signed an engagement document. Do not act on anything you read here without talking to us or to another qualified professional about your own circumstances.
What we are, and what we are not
Haga Advisory Group LLC is a tax and advisory firm led by an Enrolled Agent. We are not a CPA firm, we do not perform audits, reviews or any other attest engagement, and we do not hold ourselves out as doing so. Where a client needs reviewed or audited financial statements, we refer that work to an independent CPA firm the client engages directly.
Experience, results and testimonials
Where this site describes our experience, or carries a client’s account of working with us, it describes that person’s situation and not yours. Prior results are no promise of a similar outcome, because every outcome depends on facts. Testimonials are genuine, unpaid, and shown with the relationship in which the work was done.
Pricing and offers
Prices shown are starting prices, current at the date posted, and may be higher depending on where you live and what you own. A price becomes binding only in a signed engagement document. Where a page shows a fee, that fee stays available for at least thirty days after the date it was last posted. Any limited offer is subject to the conditions stated with it and may be withdrawn.
What we put in writing
Where this site describes a commitment — three moves or no fee, your first month or your setup fee back, the Strategy fee credit, or our responsibility for a penalty caused by our negligence — the terms that govern are the ones in the signed engagement document for that service, not the summary on this site. If the two ever differ, the signed document controls.
Our content
The text, layout, graphics and materials on this site belong to Haga Advisory Group LLC. You may read them, print them and share a link. You may not republish, sell or use them commercially without our written permission, and you may not copy the site by automated means.
Links to other sites
We sometimes link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices.
Availability, and the limits of what we promise
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be free of errors or interruptions, and we provide it as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Haga Advisory Group LLC is not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything on it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here limits the obligations we owe a client under a signed engagement document.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this site. If any part of it is difficult for you to use, tell us at virginia@hagaadvisory.com or 256-904-3398 and we will provide the information another way and work to fix the page.
Communications
Email is not secure. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details or tax documents by email. Clients have a secure portal for that; if you are not a client yet and need to send us something sensitive, call and we will arrange a secure way.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute about this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version posted here at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
